Jim Dunk and Carol Whitelock presented petitions seeking reinstatement of the capital funding for the Norwood Library. The combined number of signatures was 1800. NRA thanks those people for their support action.

At the meeting on 3 April 2018, the Mayor, Robert Bria, put forward a motion to restore development funding for Norwood Public Library, in the Council’s Long-Term Development Plan 2018-2028. Norwood Residents Association has lodged a petition of 408 signatures with Norwood Payneham and St Peters Council seeking reinstatement of capital funding for the Norwood library.
Jim Dunk will be addressing the Council at the Council Meeting Tuesday 3/4/18. He has been advised the presentation will early in the meeting which commences at 7pm.

On Valentines Day this year a group of Norwood residents showed their love for the local branch of the library following a decision by Council at its 5 February meeting to remove funding previously allocated for the branch’s upgrade from its long term financial plan. Upgrading of all three of the Council’s library branches was promised during the amalgamation of three separate Councils into the current configuration in 1997.
